Father, remind me to keep away from any brother or sister who lives an undisciplined life. For I know myself how I must imitate my spiritual elders, because they did not behave without discipline around me. I see and hear that some around me are living an undisciplined life, not doing their own work but meddling in the work of others. I have been one of these people. But I must not grow weary in doing what is right. Remind me that the idle person is not my enemy and is still your child, deserving of all forgiveness in my Lord Jesus Christ. Father, remind me that it was my thirst for independence from you that brought about my sin nature. Let me be reminded that we, as your people, are not independent of each other because we all came from you. Remind me that my faith does not nullify the law but instead, upholds the law. Father, you are not unjust so as to forget the work and the love of the men and woman who have died to protect me, who have demonstrated for your name by serving the saints. Remind me that I must passionately demonstrate the same eagerness as these brave souls for the fulfillment of your hope until the end, so that I may not be sluggish, but an imitator of those who, through faith and perseverance have gone before me. Father, forbid me from disposing of what I know to be true. Remind me of my need for your loving discipline. Strengthen me with the endurance that my suffering builds. Help us to know that your body needs each and every one of its parts to function properly. Let my greeting of other Christians be holy. Let me learn from other's mistakes. Continue to provide me with the solid teaching that comes from your body of believers. May you place the prayers on me needed to rescue those who are persecuted for their service to you. Teach me to be a servant of my local church. Remind me to pray for those who stand against your church. Keep the purpose of tithe close to my heart. The church is your body, the fullness of him who fills all in all. Now to him who by the power is working within us is able to do far beyond all that we ask or think, to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus, the saviour of the body, to all generations, forever and ever! Father, remind me to pursue wisdom and understanding. Allow me to be a discerning person. Teach me the folly in wisdom, understanding and counsel that is against you. Show me those around me that are wise so that I may learn from them and not lack the counsel I need to become like them. Teach me to not speak with an arrogant tone so that the wisdom you give me is not lost to those around me. With you come wisdom and power but without you I would not be able to find it. You alone know its place and give it freely when I ask. Remind me to search your words often to learn wisdom and moral instruction. I long to obtain understanding in all so that I can be readily available for what you will have me do. Teach me to understand how to live out the wisdom you give. Remind me that pride is the greatest enemy of wisdom and truth. Give me the gift of good sense and teach me how to use it for you. Let me not become lazy and useless to you. Put me in places where I can leverage the wisdom you give for your kingdom. Remind me that I will never be done attaining wisdom but that it is a life long walk. Please protect me from the stumbling block that is my pride and continue to lavish upon me all wisdom and insight. Amen.
