Weary

Father, I know that you will not be deceived. You will not be made a fool. For I will reap what I sow. If I sow to my own flesh I will reap corruption from my flesh, but if I sow to the Spirit I will reap eternal life from the Spirit. So protect me from growing weary in doing good, for in due time I will reap, if I do not give up. Father, remind me that if I want to become a follower of Jesus, I must deny myself, take up my cross, and follow Him. To save my life I must lose it, but to lose my life for His sake and for the gospel, I will save it. For what benefit is it for me to gain the whole world, yet forfeit my life? What can I give in exchange for my life? For if I am ashamed of Him and His words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of me when he comes in the your glory with the holy angels. Payoff

Father, remind me that the reward for humility and fearing you is riches and honor and life. Let me not count the guilty innocent for a payoff, ingnoring the just cause of the innocent. So what benefit did I then reap from those things that I am now ashamed of? For the end of those things is death. But now, freed from sin and enslaved to you, I have my benefit leading to sanctification, and the end is eternal life. Father, remind me that the sacrifice you desire is a humble spirit, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject. Thanksgiving

Father, I thank you for allowing me to address the creator of the universe personally. I shout out praise to the you! Your provision has always met my needs. No sacrifice I could offer would be enough thanks for what has been given me. Let my life song be a thanksgiving offering to the King. I shout out in celebration of your perfect nature. Praise be to the name of the God most high. Your glory is evident in the grace you freely offer your child. Let my mercy reflect the mercy that has been shown your servant. Keep me from foolishness, anxiousness and greed. Let my petition be after I have given you the thanks you deserve. Let your truth reign in the place of the justice this world has to offer. Temptation

Father, give me today my daily bread, and forgive me for my sins, for I will try to forgive everyone who sins against me, and do not lead me into temptation, but deliver me from the evil one. Help me to stay awake and pray that I will not fall into temptation. My spirit is willing, but my flesh is weak. I have longed to be rich and stumbled into temptation and a trap and many senseless and harmful desires that plunged me into ruin and destruction. Thank you for pulling me out of the mire.
