And this is the confidence that we have before him: that whenever we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.

Safety

Father, I rest and sleep, for you protect me. I will lie down and sleep peacefully for you make me safe and secure. You provide safety for the oppressed; you provide safety in times of trouble. In you I have taken shelter. You spring into action to provide the safety I so desperately desire. So my heart rejoices and I am happy. My life is safe. You have brought me out of the storm and delivered me because you love me. Yes, you are the one that brought me out from the womb and made me feel secure. To you, O Lord, I cry out! My protector, do not ignore me! Listen to me! Quickly deliver me! Be my protector and refuge, a stronghold where I can be safe! As for me, I will sing about your strength; I will praise your loyal love in the morning. For you are my refuge and my place of shelter when I face trouble. Thank you Jesus, Amen.
