And this is the confidence that we have before him: that whenever we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.

Danger

Father, teach me to see danger and hide myself, to not be naive and keep right on going, only to suffer for it. Keep me from being angry with a brother so that I will not be subjected to judgment. Keep me from insulting a brother so that I will not be brought before the council. Make me a wise person who is cautious and turns from evil, not a fool who throws off restraint and is overconfident. If ever my life is in continual danger, I will not forget your law. Remind me that the fear of people becomes a snare, but if I trust in you, I will be set on high. Who will separate me from your love? Will trouble, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? No, in all these things I have complete victory through you who loved me! For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate me from your love in Christ Jesus my Lord. It is in his glorious name I pray, Amen
