And this is the confidence that we have before him: that whenever we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.

Generation

Father, I will continue working out my salvation with awe and reverence, for the one bringing forth in me both the desire and the effort – for the sake of your good pleasure – is you O God. I long to do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that I may be a blameless and pure child of yours without blemish though I live in a crooked and perverse society, in which I must shine as a light in the world by holding on to the word of life so that on the day of Christ, those who have ministered to me will have a reason to boast that they did not run in vain nor labor in vain. Now you, by your power that is working within me, are able to do far beyond all that I ask or think, to you be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
