And this is the confidence that we have before him: that whenever we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.

Flattery

Father, remind me to cut out all flattery and boasting from my speech and that, in the end, a reproof finds more favor than a flattering word. Keep me from the smooth talk and flattery of those who would decieve the mind of the naive. The grace of my Lord Jesus is with me. Amen.
