Gentle
Father, teach me self control and gentleness. Let everyone see my gentleness. Keep me from violence. Remind me that a gentle response turns away anger. Let my help to others be administered by a gentle hand. Remind me that gentleness requires humility. Let my teaching of the truth to unbelievers be with gentleness and free from slander. Teach me true mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Remind me that I am a person dedicated to you. Keep me from arrogant wisdom, instead teach me the wisdom that can be shown gently, peaceably with accommodation, full of mercy and good fruit. Lord, your gentle words and comfort are enough for me. Your gentle and humble heart provide rest for my soul, Amen.

This is definitely a prayer I need to pray. I must admit when someone say something in a condensendingor disrespecting manner, my first reaction or thought is to put them in their place. So many times I would think if I don't retaliate, I am giving them power over me or it's evidence of weakness. This is a process for me.
